Additional 560 buses to join Addis Ababa public transport services tomorrow

Addis Ababa, October 18, 2020 (FBC) –The Addis Ababa city administration will inject additional 560 buses into the public transport services as of tomorrow.

The buses, which were acquired on rental from private transport service associations, are expected to address the transport challenges in the city.

In a ceremony held at Meskel square this afternoon, dispatch schedules for the buses were announced in the presence of government officials.

Among the officials who attended the event included deputy mayor of Addis Ababa city, Adanech Abiebie, and coordinator of public service delivery institutions, Jantirar Abay.

Speaking on the occasion, Adanech said the city admiration has paid 121 million birr in subsidy to the transport service associations.

She further said the city administration is on process to purchase 3,000 buses.
