African advisory partners and UK companies discuss investment opportunities in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, June 17, 2022 (FBC) -Agricultural and Agro-processing Investment and Export Opportunities in Ethiopia are discussed in a webinar hosted by the Ethiopian Embassy in the United Kingdom.

African advisory partners, representatives from the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Industrial Development Corporation, Agricultural Transformation Agency, Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, Ministry of Industry of Ethiopia, around 20 UK companies and invited guests virtually participated in the webinar.

Speaking on the occasion, Ethiopia’s Ambassador in the UK, Teferi Melesse stressed Ethiopia’s plenty and varied investment potential. The Ambassador also highlighted the significant investments made by British investors, mentioning Unilever and other companies, and he extended an invitation to new UK companies to visit Ethiopia.

He stressed that UK companies investing in Ethiopia shall benefit from the bigger African market and free trade arrangements.

Additionally, Ambassador Teferi emphasized the exceptional socio-economic and investment reforms implemented by the Ethiopian Government to facilitate investment and private business.

Investors that are already on the ground shared their experience. On the occasion, one investor in the edible oil and coffee business has declared that he would go to Ethiopia and pursue investment.

After thanking the attendees for sharing their critical and practical insights, the Ambassador underscored the Embassy’s readiness to assist UK investors and companies in their future endeavor to invest in Ethiopia.

Embassy expressed readiness to support companies that showed interest to explore opportunities in the Ethiopian investment climate.
