DPM & FM Demeke calls on the continent to focus on ensuring industrial dev’t

Addis Ababa, November 25, 2022 (FBC) – The FDRE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, has called on Africans to pay attention to industrial development.

In his speech at the 17th AU Extraordinary Summit being held in Niamey, Niger, Demeke stated today that Africa should work to expand industrial development and increase economic growth in the continent.

He also mentioned that industrial development is instrumental for Africa to prosper and expand intracontinental trade using its natural resources.

According to Spokesperson Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke gave a presentation to the participants of the summit regarding the industrial development activities of the Ethiopian government.

The DPM & FM mentioned that his government has been successful in implementing various industrial policies.

He also mentioned that Ethiopia has built 22 industrial and integrated agro-industrial parks.

Demeke explained that his country has implemented home-grown economic reforms. It is working to create a favorable working environment for private investors by solving structural obstacles.
