Ethio-Russia forum boosts economic, scientific and technical cooperation

Addis Ababa, September 23, 2022 (FBC) – Ethio-Russia forum enhances the long-standing bilateral ties of both nations in economic, scientific, technical and commercial cooperation spheres, apart from historical relations, said the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MoIT).

Minister of MoIT and co-chairperson of the upcoming forum, Belete Molla, confirmed Ethiopia is hosting the 8th joint forum in December, stating that preparations are underway.

He expects the forum to achieve the goal of bringing the countries’ bilateral relations, economic cooperation and benefits to a higher level.

The Minister mentioned that he had an online meeting with the Executive Director of the Russian Mineral Resources Agency, Yevgeny Petrov.

Head of the Russian Desk at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Ethiopia, Zekarias, said that on the 7th forum, which was held in St. Petersburg city two years ago, both countries have reached agreements that enable them to cooperate in ICT, science, aviation, education, energy management, health, trade, investment and many other areas.

He said that Ethiopia is expected to submit detailed requests to obtain various support frameworks, noting that the countries continue to maintain uninterrupted relations.
