Addis Ababa, August 20, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian athletes hunt for more gloary continues today in the men’s 10,000 meters final at the 19th World Athletics Championship beng held in Budapest, Hungary.
Berihu Aregawi, Solomon Barega and Yismaw Dilu will lead the line for Ethiopia in the 10,000m men’s final in Budapest. The race will be held at 7:25 p.m this evening.
Meanwhile, Hirut Meshesha, Birke Hayelom, and Diribe Welteji are looking to make it to the 1500m women’s final later today.
It is to be recalled that Ethiopian women athletes have conquered the 10,000m women’s final on the opening day of the 19th edition of the World Athletics Championship in Budapest. On August 19, 2023 Gudaf Tsegay stormed to the gold medal clocking 31:27.18 after a dramatic finale. Whereas, her compatriots Letesenbet Gidey (31:28.16) and Ejgayehu Taye (31:28.31) completed the sweep for Ethiopia as they clinched silver and bronze medals, respectively.
