Addis Ababa, August 29, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian athletics team, which has been participating in the 19th edition of the World Athletics Championship in Budapest, has returned home this morning.
Upon arrival at the Bole International Airport, the team members were greeted by Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, the Minister of Culture and Sports, Kejela Merdasa and other senior government officials.
After a short resting at the Hilton Hotel, the athletics delegation will be parading the medals in the main streets of Addis Ababa.
It is known that the Ethiopian athletics team has racked up two gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals during its stay in Budapest, ranking second from Africa and 6th in the world.
