Addis Ababa, March 17, 2024 (FBC) – The Women First 5,000m Run has been held in Addis Ababa in participation of more than 15,000 people including some elite athletes.
The race held under the theme “Promote investment in women: Accelerate progress” is sponsored by Safaricom Ethiopia.
Gutani Shanko finished the race first as Birinesh Dessie and Mekdes Shimelis came second and third respectively.
The gold medalist will be awarded 70,000 birr as the runner up and third one will receive 45,000 and 30,000 birr award respectively.
