Addis Ababa, April 19, 2024 (FBC) – During a convened meeting in Durban, South Africa today, Mr. Bililgn Mekoya of Ethiopia ascended to the position of Secretary General of the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC).
With over two decades of expertise in the realm of sports in his home country, Mr. Bililgn garnered unanimous support from the ABC board members in today’s meeting.
The incoming Secretary General, renowned for his results-oriented approach and multifaceted sports administration acumen, previously provided consultancy services to the Ethiopian Olympic Committee. Additionally, he has contributed as a basketball coach, educator, and certified sports professional.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Ethiopia has also expressed its best wishes for Mr. Bililgn to elevate the prominence of the sport during his tenure as Secretary General of the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC).
