Regional Administrators Extend Eid al-Fitr Greetings

Addis Ababa, April 21, 2023 (FBC) – Regional Administrations have extended Eid al-Fitr holiday greetings to the Muslim community.

The 1444nd Eid al-Fitr holiday is being celebrated across all corners of Ethiopia with compassion and various religious ceremonies.

Marking the occasion regional administrators extended their best wishes of the Holiday.

The Chief Administrator of the Amhara Regional State, Yilkal Kefale has sent his best wishes to all muslims on 1444nd Eid al-Fitr holiday urging the faithful to spent the holiday on humanitarian issues as the occasion is a festival where human beings are supported, the weak are visited, the sick are cared for, and love and compassion are shown.

The Chief Administrator of the South Nations, Nationalities and peoples of  Ethiopia (SNNP) Ristu Yirda on his part mentioned that Eid al-Fitr is a national holiday where the faithful work together to maintain humanity-centered values.

Somali Region Chief Administrator, Mustafa Omer on his part urged the Muslim Community to show compassion and empathy, support those who are in need of help, and pray for the ill to recover soon.

“When we celebrate Eid al-Fitr, we should show compassion to our people who have been displaced from their villages due to conflict, war and drought, and fulfill our spiritual responsibility to reveal religious teachings in our lives”, the chief has stated.

Other regions, cities, government offices and officials have also extended their best wishes of a compassionate Eid al-Fitr holiday on their social media platform and mainstream media.
