Fana: At a Speed of Life!

Bafana Bafana Beat Walia Antelopes in World Cup Qualifier

Addis Ababa, October 13, 2021 (FBC) – South African football national team, Bafana Bafana, have beaten the Ethiopian, Walia Antelopes, in the world cup qualifier 1-0 Tuesday in a match held at FNB Stadium, South Africa.

The winning was own goal curled into the net by the Walia forward, Getaneh Kebede, in the first half.

Bafana have now perched at the top in the group whipping the Walias 3-1 in Bahir Dar earlier on Saturday, apart from the home win this Tuesday.

Kickoff.com metaphorically describes the play saying: “Bafana weathered the Ethiopian storm with full time on the horizon to reclaim top spot in the group from Ghana who defeated Zimbabwe in the other clash.”

The making way in of Shimeles Bekele and Asrat Tunjo in the 60th minute to replace the withdrawn Surafel Dagnachew and Suleiman Hamid, brought no change on the game.

Now the Walias stand at the 3rd place in the table with a slim chance of qualifying for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
