Bahraini businesspeople keen to invest in Ethiopia: Chamber of Commerce CEO

Addis Ababa, May 19, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Consul General in Bahrain, Ambassador Shiferaw Geneti, met with the Royal Government of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce CEO, Dr. Abdullah Bader Al Sada, yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia confirmed.

Amb. Shiferaw stated that Ethiopia is a popular tourist destination with a significant inflow of foreign direct investment.

He highlighted Ethiopia’s multiple natural and human made resources that give a competitive advantage to foreign investors.

The Consul General also mentioned that trade between Ethiopia and Bahrain has been halted since the COVID-19 pandemic necessitating actions to revamp it.

Dr. Abdullah Bader Al Sada, on the other hand, stated that he is aware of Ethiopia’s investment opportunities, disclosing that Bahraini businesspeople are interested in investing in Ethiopia. He suggested that making a pre-travel request.

During the conversation, he requested that the Amb. assist the two countries’ chambers of commerce in cooperating. In response Ambassador Shiferaw assured him that the two countries’ stakeholders would meet and do their best to connect both countries in the areas of trade and investment.
