Brazilian investors invited to tap opportunities in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, December 14, 2023 (FBC) – Mr. Aklilu Taddese, the CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), highlighted the significance of Ethiopia’s entry into BRICS for strengthening its ties with Brazil through increased investment.

Speaking at the Ethiopia-Brazil Trade and Investment Seminar in Addis Ababa, organized by the Brazilian Embassy, Mr. Aklilu extended an invitation to Brazilian businesspeople to invest in Ethiopian industrial parks and the Dire-Dawa Free Trade Zone.

Emphasizing a focus on foreign direct investment, the IPDC is actively implementing operational reforms and providing advanced services to investors. Mr. Aklilu stressed that Ethiopia’s recent inclusion in BRICS will contribute to expanding its relations with Brazil through enhanced investment opportunities.

He specifically invited Brazilian manufacturing companies and investors to explore investment prospects in Ethiopia, particularly in the manufacturing and agro-processing sectors within industrial parks and the Dire-Dawa Free Trade Zone.

Delegates from Brazil who attended the seminar are expected to visit the Bole Lemi Industrial Park.
