China’s CMEC planning to engage in energy, mining sectors in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, March 18, 2024 (FBC) – China Machinery Engineering Corporation Group (CMEC) announced that it is planning to invest in the mining, renewable energy, and construction sectors in Ethiopia.

CMEC Group’s plan was disclosed during Ambassador Teferra Derbew’s visit to the Corporation’s headquarters and workshops earlier today.

During his visit to the Corporation, Tefera Derbew, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to China held a discussion with CMEC’s general manager, Mr. Fang Yanshui.

During the conversation, Mr. Fang Yanshui presented his Corporation’s plan to invest in construction, renewable energy and mining sectors in Ethiopia.

In return, Ambassador Tefera assured Mr. Yanshui of his embassy and the Ethiopian government’s support to CMEC Group in all its efforts to embark on investment in the East African nation.

China Machinery Engineering Corporation is a construction and engineering company, forming one part of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation group of companies. A specialization of CMEC is construction of power projects in generation, transmission, and distribution.
