Chinese companies express keen interest to invest in mining sector in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, March 30, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Habtamu Tegegn, met with various Chinese investors earlier today.

During the consultation, a presentation was made on investment opportunities and favorable conditions for Chinese investors in the mining sector in Ethiopia, according to the Ministry of Mines.

The investors have been invited to engage in metal, cement, geothermal, fertilizer processing, oil and natural gas and other investment options.

It is stated that Chinese companies have confirmed their keen interest in engaging in the mining sector in Ethiopia, especially in cement, construction materials, renewable energy resources and other sectors.
