Chinese law firm company pondering Ethiopia as its investment destination
Addis Ababa, June 7, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Tefera Derbew, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the People’s Republic of China has visited the Head Quarter of Yingke Law Firm in Beijing.
During the visit, the Ambassador had a discussion with Xi Yu Director of Yingke China Board, and Cao Xinglong, Executive Director of Yingke Africa.
“Ethiopia is the home of abundant resources and labour manpower that carried out the homegrown economic reforms to enhance the economic development in Ethiopia, he stated.
Ambassador Tefera added those favorable conditions have given an opportunity to Chinese companies to choose Ethiopia as their investment destination.
Xi Yu on her side mentioned that Yingke as the number of lawyers ranked first in the 2022 Global 200 has achieved considerable outcomes in China.
She stated that the achievements will lay a solid foundation for cooperation between the two sides.
Xi Yu also presented Yingke’s investment strategy in Africa.
Cao Xinglong on his part stated that Yingke will be involved in various investment fields in Africa in the areas of agriculture, mining, construction, energy and tourism among others which will have a great impact on achieving economic development between the two sides.
Meseret Seyoum, the director of Meseret Seyoum Law Firm Office also promoted Ethiopia’s investment opportunities and welcomed Yingke Law Firm to further expand its destination in Africa in general and in Ethiopia in particular.
Ambassador Tefera Derbew called upon Yingke to jointly work with the embassy for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
