Commercial Bank donates 1.1 bn birr for “Dine for Ethiopia” initiative

Addis Ababa, October 30, 2020 (FBC) -The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has contributed 1.1 billion birr for the “Dine for Ethiopia” initiative.

“Dine for Ethiopia” initiate is a fundraising program aimed at financing three national projects- Wonchi, Gorgora and Koysha.

The program aims to raise 3 billion birr for the projects that will be executed in Oromia, Amhara and SNNP regional states, respectively.

Board, President and staff members of the CBE today handed over the 1.1 billion birr cheque to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

He said, “My appreciation to the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Board, President and staff members for their Birr 1.1 billion contribution to the Dine for Ethiopia initiative.”

“One institution mobilizing such an amount for the development of Wenchi, Gorgora and Koysha is invaluable and in support of timely initiation and completion of the projects.”

The three projects are expected to create jobs for the local communities, drive tourism and create service economies.
