Debre-Birhan City issues license to investors with 24bn birr capital in the past six months

Addis Ababa, February 23, 2023 (FBC) – The Debre-Birhan City Administration has issued licenses to 188 investors with a capital of 24 billion birr in the previous months of the current Ethiopian financial year.

Head of the city’s investment office, Berhan Gebre-Hiwot, said that $12,529,000 was obtained from export of products manufactured by six industries engaged in the City during the aforementioned period of time.

It is stated that the City is eying to continue working in cooperation with stakeholders and push 24 industries to start production in the remaining period of the current fiscal year.

It was also indicated that action will be taken against investors who failed to engage on the investment area they received a long time ago.

“We are focusing on bringing foreign and local investors to Debre-Berhan city,” Berhan said.
