Denmark reiterates continued support to forest, agriculture dev’t in South West Ethiopia Region

Addis Ababa, October 4, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador of Denmark to Ethiopia, Kira Smith Sindibjerg visited forest and agricultural development activities in South West Ethiopia Peoples’ Region and held discussions with local officials on ways how to cement cooperation.

The Ambassador particularly visited Denmark backed forest programme in Kaffa, Southwest region.

The Ambassador met with Chief Administrator of the Region, Negash wagesho (PhD) and discussed points related to resources in the area and ways to strengthen Denmark’s support to forest, agriculture and food security programs in the area.

The two also explored potential areas of collaboration in saving indigenous trees, planting new ones and creating a sustainable livelihood for the local communities and engaging the youth in these sectors.

Denmark is committed to support the value chains in the agricultural secor and local communities in the region, the Ambassador reiterated.
