Diaspora urged to elevate engagement in development, peace building

Addis Ababa, February 25, 2024 (FBC) – State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga called upon members of the Ethiopian Diaspora to elevate their engagement in development and peace building process in the homeland.

The State Minister made the call while addressing the celebration of “Ethiopia Day” in Dubai in participation of Ethiopians and people of Ethiopian descent living in United Arab Emirates.

Government officials, leaders of Diaspora associations, religious leaders and guests attended the event.

Ambassador Mesganu also extended gratitude to those contributed their part in strengthening the diaspora association in the UAE.

He appreciated participation of members of the Ethiopian Diaspora Community living in the Middle East in the overall development activities in their homeland.

The State Minister urged the Diaspora to fend off disinformation and misinformation targeting Ethiopia, promote tourism potentials and further strengthen participation in development and peace building activities.
