ECTA participates in OACPS workshop

Addis Ababa, April 29, 2023 (FBC) – Director General of Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, Adugna Debela and representatives of Yirgachefe and Oromia Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union have jointly participated in a workshop organized by the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), on EU legislation on Accompanying Measures to the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) Emerging Lessons from CS3D Pilots.

Ethiopia was invited to present its case as a pilot country.

The opportunity has made it possible to exchange views on opportunities and challenges that could be unfolded with the new legislation and the way forward.

The delegation has also met and discussed with Ambassador Hirut Zemene and the diplomatic staff on possible cooperation between the two sides in enhancing collaboration in expanding markets in the Benelux counties.

Belgium is one of the 5th largest buyers of Ethiopian coffee.
