ECX traded commodities worth $545mn in half year

Addis Ababa, January 31, 2020 (FBC) -Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) traded 338,253 tonnes of commodities worth 17.52 billion birr (appro $545mn) in the first six months of this Ethiopian fiscal year.

According to a statement sent to FBC, the Exchange exceeded its target by 5%. The half-year performance also increased by 28% compared to same period the previous year.

Coffee took the lion’s share of the revenue with 45%, followed by sesame 31%, soybean 10%, green mung beans 8% and white beans 5%, it added.
