EFD, China’s NJFU seek technical cooperation on dev’t of bamboo industry in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, September 25, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Forestry Development (EFD) and China’s Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU) have discussed technical cooperation on development of bamboo industry in Ethiopia at a meeting between the dignitaries of both sides in Addis Ababa.

The meeting aimed at accelerating technical cooperation between Ethiopian Forestry Development (EFD) and Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU).

The key focus of the meeting was to seek cooperation between them on development of bamboo industry in Ethiopia, the technology needs and gaps of the sector as well as cooperation on research and training.

Furthermore, both parties agreed upon working out details for formalizing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to further expand areas of cooperation at the earliest to promote the relations.

During the meeting, vice director general of the Ethiopian Forestry Development, Motuma Tolera, affirmed EFDs commitment to work with the Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU) on issues of mutual interest and beyond.

Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU) is a national public research university originated in 1902 as a forestry department of central university in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.
