EIC delegation visits companies in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area

Addis Ababa, May 18, 2023 (FBC) – EIC delegation visited three companies in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA).

The visit is aimed to brief Chinese companies on investment potentials and opportunities in Ethiopia and share experiences with peer organizations in the country.

The delegation toured YOUCARE PHARMACEUTICALS GROUP which was founded in 2001 and engaged in production of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular, digestive system, diabetes and anti-infective drugs.

The other company visted by the delegation is SMC, a world-renowned comprehensive manufacturer of automatic control components used in industrial fields such as automobiles, semiconductors, electronics, machine tools, food, packaging, printing, medical care, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.

Members of the delegation also visted PONY AI, a leading global autonomous driving technology company that is revolutionizing the future of transportation by building reliable technology for autonomous vehicles.

The BDA is a state-owned SEZ located in Southeast Beijing on 176 sq km. Until 2019 the BDA gathered more than 26,000 companies from more than 40 countries, with a total investment of more than 100 billion USD.
