Embassy begins registration of Ethiopians living in UAE without residence permits

Addis Ababa, February 24, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has begun registering Ethiopians living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without legal documents.

During his recent visit to UAE, Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed had reached an agreement with the UAE to legalize irregular migrants to obtain residence and work permits.

The registration is aimed at implementing the agreement reached between the two sides, said the Ethiopian Consulate in Dubai.

According to the Embassy, the registration will last until March 22, 2020.
