ENDF says terrorist TPLF using conflict as a tool to prolong its existence

Addis Ababa, July 14, 2021 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Defense Forces has issued a televised statement on belligerent activities of the terrorist TPLF and related latest developments in Tigray and other parts of the northern part of the country.

In his statement, Lt.-Gen Bacha debele recalled that the unilateral ceasefire was declared to create a peaceful atmosphere for farmers of the region and the humanitarian operation in the area.

But, he said, the terrorist TPLF has rejected the unilateral ceasefire and started brewing belligerence and attacking civilians. Lt.-Gen Bacha said the terrorist TPLF is using conflict as a tool to prolong its existence.“Conflict is something inextricably linked with the very nature of TPLF” he noted.

TPLF is also using the conflict situation to avoid the quest from the community of the region

The TPLF group is recruiting children below fifteen and involving them in the belligerent attacks against civilians and government armed forces defying the ceasefire.

Lt.-Gen Bacha also said the terrorist group is continuously fabricating lies calling the public not to be deluded by its false propaganda.

The national army is ready to restat offensive and re-enter the areas occupied by the TPLF force and take law enforcement measures.

He urged the community to standby the national army and contribute all the necessary support thereby play share in preserving law and order in the country.
