ERA awards over 11.6 bn birr road projects to contractors

Addis Ababa, April 28, 2020 (FBC) –The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) has awarded asphalt upgrading road projects to six local and one overseas firms.

The 509km long seven projects will be executed with more than 11.6 billion birr allocated by the Ethiopian Government.

Here are the projects

1. Debre-Berhan-Deneba-Lemi and Jihur-Deneba

2. Fiq-Segeg-Gerbo Denen (Lot 3 Yoale-Denen)

3. Humbo-Tebela-Abaya

4. Daye-Gerja-Kibre Mengist (Melka Desta) and Meleya-Mejo

5. Jigjiga-Gelelesh-Degehamdo-Fegeg (contract 2)

6. Hawlatula-Weteraresa-Yayu-Wurache

7. Zalambes-Alitena-Marewa-Edaga Hamus

The projects are expected to take three-four years for completion.
