Ethiopia announces revised customs duty, tax mannual over import substitution drive

Addis Ababa, August 6, 2021 (FBC) – The government of Ethiopia has annouced a revised customs duty and tax mannual in line with the activities being carried out to substitue imported goods with domestically produced products.

The revised tariff mannual with 8,000 line items for raw material, intermediate goods and capital goods is intended to encourage the growth of the manufacturing sector in Etiopia.

According to Ministry of Finace, the tariff book is developmed by a special tariff committe comprising experts from Finace Ministry, Ministry of Revenue, Customs Commission and Trade and Industry Ministry.
