Ethiopia, China, and UNIDO sign tripartite agreement to establish centers of excellence

Addis Ababa, February 19, 2024 (FBC) – Joint Declaration for Tripartite Cooperation on the Establishment of Centers of Excellence in Ethiopia signed in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed between the Government of Ethiopia, the Government of China and UNIDO.

“The Joint Declaration for Tripartite Cooperation on the Establishment of Centers of Excellence in Ethiopia, focusing on agriculture, agro-industries, renewable energy, and digitization, presents a unique opportunity for Ethiopia to enhance the livelihoods of farmers and rural communities through innovative solutions provided by these centers,” Prime Minister Abiy noted on social media after attending the signing ceremony.

“I extend my gratitude to the Government of China and UNIDO for their pivotal role in facilitating this initiative. And special thanks to UNIDO’s Director General Gerd Muller for your continued commitment to Ethiopia’s development,” the Premier added.
