Ethiopia, China celebrate Golden Jubilee of their relationships in Shanghai

Addis Ababa, December 18, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia and China have celebrated their Golden Jubilee of the establishment of their relationships in an event organized by Ethiopian Consulate and Shanghai Municipal Government.

State Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tsion Teklu, while virtually participating in the 50 years Golden Jubilee celebration has extended her congratulatory message for the two nations.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to China, Teshome Toga, Ethiopian Consulate General in Shanghai, Workalemahu Desta and several high ranking officials of the government of China have attended the celebration.

Tsion said that the multifaceted bilateral and diplomatic relationship between Ethiopia and China has been transformed in to a higher level.

Ethiopia and China have strengthen their ties in the political, economic and people to people spheres, Tsion noted, adding that the Chinese investors in Ethiopian have taken the frontline in country’s investment sector.

She also called up Chinese companies to reinforce their participation in the Ethiopian investment sector utilizing the semi-sentential observance as a great advantage.

Ambassador Teshome Toga, to his part, all members of the Ethiopian diplomatic community in China are celebrating the Gold Jubilee with various events expressing confidence that China continues its development partnership to Ethiopia’s prosperity drive.

He expressed gratitude to the Chinese government and its business communities for their support to African countries especially Ethiopia in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

High government officials, investors, members of the business communities, scholars, artists, journalists of China and Ethiopian Students in Chinese Universities and diplomatic corps have participated in the 50 years Golden Jubilee celebration took place in Shanghai.
