Ethiopia, China explore ways of enhancing investment ties

Addis Ababa, August 17, 2023 (FBC) – The Industry Minister of Ethiopia, Melaku Alebel, received a delegation led by Deputy Finance Minister of China Liao Min at his office where the two sides explored ways hot to strengthen the investment ties between the two countries.

On the occasion, Melaku said that Ethiopia has emulated best practices of China in the areas of formulation of policies and strategies to ensure industrialization.

The Government of Ethiopia has prioritized support to the private sector, Melaku said, calling the Chinese government to engage more investors in the Ethiopian investment, promote balanced trade and support the infrastructure development in the country.

The Chinese official, for his part, appreciated the growth trajectory in Ethiopia, reiterating commitment to make Ethiopia a chosen investment destination for their businesses.
