Ethiopia reaffirms commitment for peaceful resolution to the conflict in the north

Addis Ababa, October 14, 2022 (FBC) – The FDRE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen, met with Ms. Katja Keul, Minister of State at the Ministry of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The two sides pledged to scale up the bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Germany.

The two countries need to cooperate on issues related to energy, climate change, peace, and security, according to the deputy prime minister.

He stated that Ethiopia is dedicated to finding a peaceful solution to the conflict in the north.

He said that the ICHREE’s report is politically motivated and biased.

According to Mrs. Katja Keul, Germany supports the peace process to end the conflict in the northern part of the country, as per MFA Ethiopia.
