Ethiopia records 579 new cases, 5 deaths from coronavirus in 24 Hrs

Addis Ababa, July 27, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s confirmed cases reached 14,547 as Ministry of Health has reported 579 new coronavirus infections over the last twenty four hours.

Ministry of Health revealed that from the total of 7,009 medical tests that were conducted within the last 24 hours, some 579 of them have been tested positive for coronavirus.

The ministry said 6,386 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 have so far recovered, including 170 in the last 24 hours period.

The report from the Ministry indicates that 5 more patients succumbed to the COVID-19, bringing the death toll of coronavirus in the country 228.

The ministry further said a total of 7,931 patients are still receiving medical treatment, out of which 66 are in severe condition.

Ethiopia has so far conducted some 389,348 COVID-19 medical tests, according to the ministry.
