Ethiopia remains committed to supporting peaceful resolution to conflict in Sudan: PM

Addis Ababa, December 9, 2023 (FBC) – During the 41st Extraordinary Session of the IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government on the Sudan, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) expressed continued commitment to support a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the neighboring country, Sudan, which has been going on for several months.

The 41st Extraordinary Session of the IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government on the Sudan was held in Djibouti earlier today.

“I thank my brother President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh for hosting the 41st Extraordinary Session of the IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government on the Sudan. Ethiopia remains committed to supporting a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the Sudan,” PM Abiy said via a social media post.

It is to be recalled that as part of the IGAD, Ethiopia has been actively engaged in supporting a process for the peace and stability of the Sudan.

The Prime Minister and his delegation concluded their participation in the meeting and returned to Addis Ababa early this evening.
