Ethiopia seeks to take lessons from India to control distribution of basic goods with digital system

Addis Ababa, August 12, 2022 (FBC) – Gebremeskel Chala, Minister for Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Regional integration  held discussion with the Ambassador of India to Ethiopia, Robert shetkin tong.

The discussion was about the development of the two countries bilateral relations on Trade and Investment in various sectors.

During the discussion, Gebremeskel stated that Ethiopia and India have a long-standing economic integration on trade, investment, manpower development and Air lines sectors.

The minister announced a plan to to digitize the controlling and regulation system of basic commodity goods for low income communities including petroleum transportation and distribution system.

Additionally,Gebremeskel asked India to share experience on technological ways of regulating and distribution of petroleum and agreed to work in collaboration with India.

Robert shetkin tong, Ambassador of India to Ethiopia on his part appreciated the ever-growing relations of the two countries in the area of trade and investment and stated Ethiopia and India can expand areas of trade and investment relations.
