Ethiopia, Somalia agree to forge deeper bilateral and multilateral partnership

Addis Ababa, November 25, 2022 (FBC) – The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, met on Thursday with his Somali counterpart Saleh Ahmed Jama on the margins of the ongoing AU Extraordinary Summit in Niamey, Niger.

DPM & FM Demeke noted that Ethiopia is prepared to share its best experience in different sectors to Somalia.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers have agreed to forge deeper bilateral and multilateral partnership.

Both sides have also agreed to hold joint ministerial commission as early as possible.

The Somali DPM, for his part, said peace in Ethiopia has multiplier effect to Somalia and beyond,

He commended Ethiopia for its critical role in the fight against terrorism.
