Ethiopia, Republic of Korea agree to further bolster ties

Addis Ababa, July 3, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia and the Republic of Korea have agreed to further bolster ties in the areas of trade, investment and capacity building.

Ethiopian Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Dessie Dalkie, earlier today has visited  Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.

During thevisit, the Ambassador met with Governor of the Province, Cheol-Woo Lee and conferred on ways of promoting cooperation between the Province and Ethiopian regions in the investment sector.

Ambassador Dessie told Governor Lee, Ethiopia and South Korea enjoy longstanding diplomatic ties. These ties need to be further strengthened through region-to-region partnership such as this one in the aforementioned areas, the Ambassador added.

Governor Lee, on his part, pledged to explore avenues for further cooperation between the Province and Regions in Ethiopia.

The envoy also met with mayors of various cities, presidents of varsities and CEOs of certain companies located in Gyeongsangbuk-do.
