Ethiopia successfully participates in the ‘2023 CERF high-level pledging event

Addis Ababa, December 12, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian delegation has successfully participated in the ‘2023 CERF high-level pledging event -a fund for All, by All’ organized by the UN, New York, USA.

The Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission (EDRMC) stated that Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) aims in addressing resource gaps in emergencies and anticipatory actions at a faster and flexible modality.

During the event, massively productive bilateral meetings were also undertaken on Ethiopia’s current efforts to address disasters and unfettered humanitarian access, said EDRMC.

The December 9th, 2022 pledging platform, according to EDRMC, generated about 409 million USD.

EDRMC post on Twitter indicates that the UN Emergency Fund (CERF) is targeting to raise one billion USD for the year.
