Ethiopia to embark on digital learning from 9 to 12 grades

Addis Ababa, August 26, 2020 (FBC) – Ministry of Education has today announced a plan to embark on digital learning at secondary school level ranging from nine to twelve grades.

The digital learning method is said crucial to enable the government to cut costs in purchasing large amounts of paper for printing purposes, it is indicated on the meeting the ministry is holding on its ten year strategic plan.

Realizing the new digital way of education, the country will enable students easily adapt themselves with mushrooming technological innovations and advancements, the ministry said.

The teaching mechanism to be supported with the digital technology will enable the government to realize quality of education and address issues related to lack of fair access and accountability in the sector.

The ministry said that it has been exerting efforts to fulfill ample amount of tablet computers for the commencement of the digital education system.
