Ethiopia to get a 10 million Euro capacity building center for its power sector

Addis Ababa, August 26, 2022 (FBC) – Capacity building center for the power sector is to be built in Bishoftu town at a cost of 10 million Euro secured from the French Government.

A mission tasked to overseeing the project presented the training and capacity program designed for capacitating Ethiopian Electric Power (EPP) to the Ministry of Water and Energy.

It was stated on the briefing session that the program was designed with the objective to support Ethiopian Electric power (EEP) to improve the competencies of its workforce.

Sultan Wali (PhD), State Minister for Energy Development, in his part, expressed his appreciation for the effort exerted to implement the program and made sure that his office will support the program to be effective.

The capacity building center which is the main component of the program will be equipped with state of the art equipment and facilities that can play a pivotal role in enhancing the capacity development program.

The program is a 10 Million Euro budgeted program financed by the French Development Agency (AFD). The French Development Agency (AFD) inked an agreement with the Ministry of Finance back in May.
