Ethiopia, US agree to continue consultations on strategic, current issues of mutual interest

Addis Ababa, April 1, 2024 (FBC) – State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, welcomed and held discussions with a delegation led by the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Chief of Staff, Mr. Damian Murphy, at his office today.

The State Minister met the delegation at the backdrop of its working visit in the Horn of Africa region.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, the two sides mainly discussed the full implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement and current situation in the country.

State Minister Mesganu reassured the delegation that the Ethiopian government is committed to resolving political differences in the country with dialogue and in a peaceful manner.

He also touched on the progress being made in areas of peace building, expanding political space, and economic development.

Both sides agreed to continue consultations on strategic and current issues of mutual interest.
