Ethiopian athletes smash the Mumbai Marathon record

Addis Ababa, January 15, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian athletes have dominated the TATA Mumbai Marathon 2023 in both genders this morning.

In the women’s race, Ethiopian athletes exclusively conquered the 1st to 8th spots.

Anchialem Haymanot became the other record-setter Ethiopian of the day as she came first in the International Elite Women’s race and set the event record in the process, clocking 2:24:15.

Athlete Rehima Tusa and athlete Letebirhan Hailay finished the competition with 2nd and 3rd place.

Lemi Berhanu Hayle made history, setting a new event record on his way to clinching a gold medal in the International Elite Men’s race, clocking 2:07:32.

Fellow Ethiopian athlete Hailu Zewdu finished 3rd, sandwiching Kenyan athlete Philemon Rono in the 2nd spot.

Meanwhile, another Ethiopian female athlete Yalemzerf Yehualaw has also triumphed the 10km road race held in Valencia, Spain.

Atelete Yalemzerf clocked 29 minutes and 19 seconds to win the Valencia 10km road race earlier today.
