Ethiopian athletics delegation heads to Riga

Addis Ababa, September 28, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian athletics national team is travelling to Riga, Latvia, ahead of the inaugural World Athletics Road Running Championship.

At Bole International Airport, Yohannes Engda, representative of the EAF Office and EAF Competition and Participation Director Mr. Asfaw Dagne were present and expressed their best wishes to the delegation.

According to Ethiopian Athletics Federation (EAF), at the inaugural road running championship, Ethiopia will be represented by 7 women and 6 men with a total of 13 athletes.

Among others, Yomif Kejelcha, Diribe Welteji, Freweyni Hailu, and Hirut Meshesha are expected to rack up medals to Ethiopia in the Latvian capital. They are currently touted as among the emerging faces of Ethiopian athletics.
