Ethiopian athletics team receive warm welcome from residents in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, August 13, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Athletics team of the 19th edition of the World Athletics under 20 Championships has received a warm welcome from residents of Addis Ababa who took to streets to cheer the athletes to victory.
The team who finished the U20 Championships third has travelled across the streets of Addis Ababa to share the delight of the people upon the win.
A thanksgiving and award ceremony also held in the Skylight Hotel where the athletes have been accorded with a range of prizes including financial rewards in attendance of high level government officials and leadership of the Ethiopian Athletics Federation.
Ethiopia has settled for 6 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medals at the World Athletics under 20 Championships which held in Cali, Colombia.
