Ethiopian among IATA’s first Safety Leadership Charter signatories

Addis Ababa, September 22, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian Airlines became among the first IATA (The International Air Transport Association) Safety Leadership Charter signatories.

The Safety Leadership Charter aims to strengthen the organizations’ safety culture through commitment with eight core safety leadership guiding principles, according to Ethiopian Airlines.

The Charter has been developed in consultation with IATA members, and the wider aviation community, to support industry executives in evolving a positive safety culture within their organizations.

It is geared toward strengthening organizational safety culture through highlighting this critical element as a driver for continuous improvement in safety performance, by proposing commitment to key leadership principles and supporting practical actions.
