Ethiopian companies set to participate in Dubai Int’l Tech 2022 Fair

Addis Ababa, September 01, 2022 – Ministry of Innovation and Technology – Ethiopia has announced that five Ethiopian Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies engaged in business outsourcing have been selected to participate in the International Technology Fair to be held in Dubai next November 2022.

Minister of State for Innovation and Technology, Huria Ali, discussed with companies participating in the GITEX Global Conference to be held in Dubai next October.

Africom Technologies, Accelerate Technology Solutions, I Network Solutions, Orbit Health Solutions and R&D Group that are engaged in Business Outsourcing have been selected from those who have applied for the BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) companies participating in the conference.

The conference has been held for 41 years and focuses on key technology sectors, especially smart cities, cyber security, information economy, mobility, digital healthcare and telecom, with more than 100,000 international visitors, more than 4,000 technology leaders and 170 countries participating.

The Minister of State Huria urged the companies to make appropriate arrangements, realizing that they are participating not only to promote themselves, but also to promote Ethiopia’s potential in the sector to others.

In the revised investment promotion regulations business outsourcing is a sector that has been given special attention in the Digital Ethiopia 2025 Strategy, she confirmed.

Ethiopia is a country with a large number of youth university graduates and its geographic location is suitable for business outsourcing, but it has not been utilised yet.

It is expected that the country’s improving electric power supply and the expansion of telecom infrastructure will accelerate the growth of the sector.
