Ethiopian cultural troupe arrives in New Delhi

Addis Ababa, November 23, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian cultural troupe consisting of 16 members of Mulualem Culture Center have arrived in New Delhi, India, the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi confirmed.

The delegates were received at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi by the Embassy.

It is indicated that the cultural troupe is set to participate at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Annual Festival 2023-24, 7th ‘India International Folk Festival’, scheduled from today November 23, 2023 to December 4, 2023 in various cities across India.

It is known that the Ethiopia-India relation is characterized by close cultural affinity, economic complementarity and cordial political ties. Historical linkages between the two countries go back about 2,000 years of recorded history. Trade between the two countries flourished during the ancient Axumite Empire (1 Century AD).

Among the long list of bilateral agreements, the two friendly nations have signed bilateral cultural agreement in 1983, it is learned.
