Ethiopian, Djiboutian ATMIS peacekeeping forces hold joint military drills
Addis Ababa, November 28, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian and Djiboutian peacekeeping forces under ATMIS (African Transition Mission in Somalia) 7th round Sector Four held a joint military drill.
The joint military drill by the members of ATMIS peacekeeping forces from the two countries has a paramount importance to anticipate future challenges and undertake possible missions, said the Deputy Commander of Sector 4, Colonel Shumet Telelew.
According to the Deputy Commander, the joint military drill will help to eliminate Al-Shabaab’s occasional attempted attacks.
He also hoped that the joint military exercise will contribute to strengthen the alliance of the Ethiopian and Djiboutian defense forces.
After the joint military drill, the peacekeeping members indicated that the practical field exercise will help to examine the current military capacity and establish an alliance with the Djibouti forces to neutralize the al-Shabaab terrorist group.
ENDF indicated that it will focus on enabling all citizens to understand that peace starts within each individual, achieving peace building in a civilized way at the community level, and working on the practical implementation of national peace building, as per Ministry of Defense.
