Ethiopian Investment Commission becomes official member of WAIPA

Addis Ababa, February 28, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian Investment Commission has become an official member of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).

EIC said the membership brings an opportunity to learn from best experiences of international investment promotion agencies so as to cater more to the demands of esteemed investors.

“EIC also anticipates WAIPA to work on the design and delivery of tailored human resources capacity building and world-class training programs offered to EIC’s core staffs,” Ethiopian Investment Commissioner, Lelise Neme said in a tweet.

Lelise added that WAIPA will facilitate access to research and data, provide advice on investment policies and strategies, jointly coordinate events focusing on promoting Ethiopia’s investment opportunities, and share pragmatic country and regional experiences in attracting foreign investment.

WAIPA, for its part, said “We look forward to collaborating with EIC on various developments projects in Africa as we strengthen our footprint in the region.”
