Ethiopian Troops Serving With UNISFA Receive Medals

Addis Ababa, December 9, 2019 (FBC) -The 21st Lucy motorized battalion serving with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) has received medals in recognition for its efficient performance in peacekeeping mission.

Ambassador of Ethiopia to Sudan, Shiferaw Jarso, who attended the ceremony held today, said Ethiopia, as the only contributor of troops to UNISFA, will strengthen the efforts its has been making to maintain peace in the region.

Major General Mehari Zewde, Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei, for his part congratulated members of the battalion and commended them for their dedication and hard work.
