Ethiopians in Malawi purchase a $19,000 bond to finance GERD construction

Addis Ababa, February 12, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopians living in Malawi have purchased bonds amounting 19,000 US Dollars to financially support the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) construction.

Ethiopian Embassy in Nairobi in collaboration with a coordinating committee operating in Malawi organized a bond sale event from January 6 – 7, 2021.

Deputy Head of Mission, Siraj Reshid who presided over the bond sale event consulted with high officials of the Malawian government on various issues including bilateral relations.

Ethiopia, through embassies in several parts of the world, is aggressively working to include the Diaspora in crucial development activities including construction of the GERD through the bond sale.
